This is the kind of thing we should have been doing years ago.
There is a bill picking up steam in the Senate that would ban Chinese-made automobiles from the U.S. market. Good. Modern cars are not just engines and tires anymore. They are rolling computers with cameras, microphones, GPS, cell connections, software updates, and who knows what else buried in them.
We spent decades letting China eat our factories, steal our tech, flood our markets, and then act surprised when they use every inch of access we give them. At some point a country has to decide if cheap imports are worth turning its roads into another surveillance pipeline for Beijing.
Call it protectionist if you want. I call it common sense.
Build the cars here. Build the parts here. Protect the data here. America First is not just a slogan, it is how a sane country survives.
